Mahatma International School opens in Riyadh

RIYADH: Despite many Indian schools in Riyadh, Mahatma school is opening a new school in Azziya, Riyadh. The school will officially start functioning from 22nd September 2011.
Chairman of Mahatma school organized a Press Meet at School premises accompanied by Ahmed Al-Thuwaim, vice president.
The Mahatma International School will distribute application forms from 5th September 2011 for classes I to VI under India's Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE) curriculum. The official opening
of the brand new primary school is scheduled for the 22nd of September 2011.
Abdul Jabbar, the chairman of the new school said they planned to keep class sizes small. The school is hiring teachers, with applicants from the Saudi Arabia. He added that 300 applications have already been received for the post of teachers and 80 have been selected.
Abdul Jabbar said: "We are investing more than 2 million Riyals to give quality education with high tech facilities." Every classroom will be equipped with a monitor and projector for the students, the school auditorium will have a capacity to accommodate 2000 people and a grand library is underway.
The school will conduct three classes weekly for the Arab students to learn English.
The tuition fee is said to be 200 Riyals per month and an additional 100 Riyals will be charged as admission fe. The school plans to provide bus facility as well.
Nasar Basheer said Indian parents place a lot of importance on sending their children to schools that teach Indian curriculum. More than 2 million Indians are living in Saudi Arabia.
This is the first school in the Kingdom named Mahatma.
