Thiruvananthapuram(India), February 16,2012: Kerala Wednesday expressed its desire to host the next edition of the global Indian diaspora conclave. “At the recently concluded Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, Kerala expressed desire that the next edition of this mega meet of the Indian diaspora be held here. We had already told this to Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, and at the cabinet meet we decided to request the centre that the next one be held here,” Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters here. “The Keralites abroad constitute 10 percent of the total diaspora from the country and their contribution by way of remittances is as high as 20 percent. And hence, we want the 11th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas to be held here,” he said.
