Jaipur, January 8 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today announced a special programme under which the state government will fund 90 per cent of the travel of young Non-Resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin coming to the state once a year.
Rajasthan will also bear the cost of local transport and accommodation of 18-20 years age group under the “Know your Rajasthan (Apne Rajasthan Ko Janiye)” programme, Gehlot announced at the formal inauguration ceremony of the 10th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas here. The state government will bear 90 per cent of airfare for youths coming to visit the desert state once in a year, he said highlighting several programmes and initiatives taken by the state government for the welfare of people which included affordable housing policy, free generic medicine scheme, Janani Shishu Surakha Yojana and others. He said that the government has focused on IT, Infrastructure development, power sector and agriculture.
