CHORWAD (JUNAGADH): Business took backseat as the Ambani family's two-day reunion at Chorwad ended on an emotional note on Wednesday, with a memorial to patriarch and Reliance Group founder Dhirubhai Ambani being inaugurated. Contrary to speculation there were no announcements. The family chose to stay away from the media glare not wanting to answer questions on a possible reconciliation of business ties between Mukesh and Anil Ambani. The Ambani clan's spiritual guru Ramesh Oza inaugurated the Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial, a museum which tells the story of the industrialist's life, in presence of Kokilaben, her two sons, and daughters - Dipti Salgaonkar and Neena Kothari - among others."It was an emotional moment for all family members. They controlled their tears and talked about Dhirubhai as if he was present there," Parimal Nathwani, group president, Reliance Industries, told mediapersons after the inauguration.
Before flying out of Chorwad on Wednesday afternoon, the brothers walked down the memory lane sharing memories of their illustrious father and his journey from this little hamlet on the coast of the Arabian sea to becoming one of India's tallest business icons.
The biggest lesson they learnt from their father's life: If you take up some work, take it up as a mission and don't leave it half way. "Both brothers said that they will continue to work with this motto," Nathwani added.
Kokilaben won praise from family members for single-handedly taking up the work of developing the memorial. Oza told mediapersons that there was always mutual affection between both the brothers and it will remain.
