Kuala Lampur, November 15: Former deputy president of Malaysian Indian Congress S Subramaniam, who underwent a 13-hour brain surgery operation on Saturday, is now out of danger. MIC central working committee member K P Samy said that according to doctors at Pantai Medical Centre, where he is admitted, the surgery for mild cerebral bleeding caused by high blood pressure had gone well. “He has, however, been taken off life support and is breathing normally. Doctors have said they expect him to regain consciousness within 72 hours of the surgery.” Subramaniam was first admitted to another hospital here on Friday night when he complained of uneasiness after a function. Former MIC president Samy Vellu, wishing him speedy recovery said: “I hope he gets well soon. We have known each other for 40 years and never quarrelled, although we have had our political differences,” he said.
