Docs say Rajini's condition is stable

CHENNAI: Actor Rajinikanth is responding well to treatment and his condition is stable, doctors at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre have said. A release from the hospital on Tuesday said the actor was being treated for respiratory and gastrointestinal problems. "His vital parameters are stable. He is spending his time with family members," the bulletin said. The hospital has restricted visitors from meeting the 61-year-old actor who is in a private ward on the seventh floor of the hospital. The actor was taken to the hospital on Saturday, where a series of tests confirmed pneumonia. He was given antibiotics and intermittent oxygen support. Doctors also transfused blood after they found a drop in his haemoglobin count.
