Dallas, February 5,2012: Telugu Association of North America has announced the launch of TANA Global Science Fair for Telugu youth who are between in the ages of 10 and 18. This event will be conducted in collaboration with Eenadu and ETV. The goal of the fair is to discover, empower and encourage science and technology talent in Telugu students around the World. Founded in 1977, TANA is one of the oldest and largest Indo-American national-level non-profit organizations, serving the Telugu members across the USA and Canada. Consistent with its charter, TANA is an organization formed to identify and address social, cultural and educational needs of Telugu community. . TANA believes Telugu young minds with the talent in science can change the world—and one way to encourage that is to celebrate and felicitate scientific talent as we do for athletes and pop idols. TANA is providing an opportunity to all Telugu students with an idea to participate from anywhere in the world, and share their inventions and ideas with the world. Students can build and submit their projects either as a solo or in a team of up to three students entirely online, hence making it easy and affordable for all to participate in this Global competition. Telugu students from a remote Zilla Parishad High School in Andhra Pradesh will be able to compete with students from an elite private school in Albany, New York for Awards and Prizes, including once-in-a-lifetime experiences, scholarships and much more. From the list of semi-finalists, a number of finalists will be selected to bring their projects to Dallas, Texas in July, 2013 to TANA Convention where the awards will be presented to winners on a grand stage with an international coverage of the event. Prasad Thotakura, TANA President said it is TANA’s mission to encourage and provide a platform for our Telugu youth to participate and excel in their chosen filed. It is the first ever conducted event and a great opportunity for the Telugu youth including rural areas of Andhra Pradesh to participate and get recognized on a MEGA International stage at TANA Convention.
