JERUSALEM: Israel's president has been rained out of his official residence.Spokeswoman Ayelet Frish said today that a rainstorm flooded the official presidential residence last weekend, filling its guest and dining rooms with water. The flood also damaged the electrical grid.An American Jewish man who lives most of the year in the US but owns an apartment in Jerusalem will rent out his flat to the Israeli statesman for four months while the damage is being repaired.The apartment is in a posh neighbourhood overlooking the walls of Jerusalem's Old City.President Shimon Peres will still greet visiting heads of state in the drier parts of his official residence, but his spokeswoman said he will sometimes have to host meetings in his temporary home.
