Washington, Oct 19 (PTI) Ahead of East Asian Summit, US President Barack Obama's National Security Advisor Thomas E Donilon will visit India next week for key consultations and to review recent developments in bilateral strategic partnership. Donilon is schedule to meet National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon and other Indian leaders, the White House announced today. Before coming to India, the top US official will travel to China. The top American official and Indian leaders will review recent developments in the US-India partnership, and discuss ways to advance key elements of the relationship, including both countries' participation in the upcoming East Asia Summit, in Indonesia in mid-November, the White House said. The visit underscores this administration's commitment to growing US leadership in Asia, and our work with emerging powers, such as China and India, as a core component of this commitment, the statement said. On the visit to China, the statement said National Security Advisor Thomas E Donilon will travel (on Friday) to Beijing, China for meetings with Chinese leaders and policymakers, including Vice Premier Wang Qishan and State Councilor Dai Bingguo. In Beijing he will discuss a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual concern. The US official's visit to China comes as a row has erupted between the two economic giants over Washington's charges of Beijing manipulating the yuan to make Chinese exports cheaper.
