British Midland International begins Amritsar-London flight

AMRITSAR : To woo the Punjabi passengers,British Midland International has offered to servePunjabi delicacies on its Amritsar-London flightwhich arrived on its maiden journey on Friday.
"The thrice weekly flight would serve Samosa, Chhat, Pindi Chana, Murgh Kathi besides a variety of in flight entertainments in Hindi", said CEO of British Midland International Wolfgang Prock -Schauer.
He said with the beginning of new flight , not only the Punjab and UK had moved closer but it was the only airline to offer a direct connection between Punjab and Great Britain with a travel time of 12 hours.
"We are excited to enter the Indian market via holy city of Amritsar, our new connection to London offers unprecedented convenience and real value to UK bound Punjabi travelersm," he said.
He claimed that the new direct flight would strengthen economic and cultural ties between two regions. He informed that both business and leisure customers would have a choice and greater flexibility when traveling to London connecting from there within UK or flying onward to North Atlantic destinations with one of their partner airlines. He also informed that the approximate travel time from Amritsar to London was 12 hours, from London to Amritsar 11 hours 35 minutes including a brief stopver in Almaty, Kazahstan.
