Disney making film about Indian baseball talents

inku Singh and Dinesh Pate
CALIFORNIA: Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, two talented young baseball players discovered on a 2008 Indian reality competition called "Million Dollar Arm," may have faded from view on the sports pages - but they have gotten a new lease on fame, now that their story is becoming a Disney film of the same name.
Cinemablend reports that Singh and Patel are the lead characters in the film now being written by acclaimed screenwriter/director Tom McCarthy, known for his independent films "Win Win," "The Station Agent" and "The Visitor."
The film is being produced by the same team that created the inspirational sports films "Secretariat" and "The Rookie."
Singh and Patel were two young unknowns who won "Million Dollar Arm" and were soon afterward signed as pitchers for the Pittsburgh Pirates. They were the first Indian players to ever sign a contract with a major American sports team.
Patel was released by the team in November 2010 after a lackluster season; Singh - whose pitches reached 92 miles per hour - stayed with the Pirates until he joined an Australian baseball team in 2010, and is currently playing for a minor league team called the West Virginia Power.
